5 upcoming Toyota cars in 2021/2022

Toyota has some master products that are a true part and no other car can replace it. The cars we are talking about are Fortuner and Innova. However, this product has not been able to make its presence felt in the budget car segment. Although Glanza and Urban Cruiser work very well, it still needs some solid products. Also, this brand may want to expand its portfolio in the country by importing cars from other parts as well. In this article, we will discuss the upcoming 5 Toyota cars in 2021/2022.

1. Rebadged Maruti Ciaz

The Toyota Yaris was a good product, however, it could not do magic like this. The brand is now expected to release the Yaris and bring back the Maruti Ciaz to push the competitive sedan on the market. With the reversed Maruti Ciaz, this product could close the gap the Yaris will build once it leaves the market.

toyota’s re-badged version will come with the 1.3L Multijet diesel andnew 1.5L petrol powertrains. The oil burner will be boosted with Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid technology. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic.

Expected Price – Rs 10 Lakh – Rs 12 Lakh

Expected Launch – 2021-22

2.Rebadged Maruti Ertiga/XL6

Toyota is expected to introduce the Maruti Ertiga / XL6 in a modified version, similar to the one they did with the Maruti Baleno and Maruti Vitara Brezza. The product, unlike Maruti, does not have the basic diversity under its portfolio. Although we do not have official information, we expect Toyota to use the high range Maruti Ertiga variants such as its car line variant and the XL6 high variant as the top range of the redesigned product line.

Toyota’s Ertiga will feature the same BS6-ready 1.5L petrol and new 1.5L diesel engines generating power worth 104bhp with 138Nm and 94bhp with 225Nm respectively.

Expected Price – Rs 8 Lakh – Rs 11 Lakh
Expected Launch – 2021

3. TOYOTA-SUZUKI CROSSOVER

Toyota currently does not have a strong brand between its Urban Cruiser and Innova which can take cars like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The product can thus take the help of Maruti depending on their partnership to bring the product to the country based on Toyota's TNGA platform. The car will be shared with both models such as Glanza & Urban Cruiser and will be a tough competition. However, no official confirmation has been received, however, we expect to see a car coming out of this product. This will help to establish Toyota as a strong competitor in the category that will directly benefit the customer.

This model could use the Maruti Suzuki’s 103bhp, 1.5L petrol engine. Maruti Suzuki is also working on an all-new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which could also power this SUV

Expected Price – Rs 11 Lakh – Rs 15 Lakh
Expected Launch – 2022-23

4. Toyota hilux

Toyota may bring in a bakkie to revitalize its sport and replace the untouched part of the country. The van is expected to be a Toyota Hilux. It will follow a design language similar to Fortuner, however, in particular everything will be new to classify as a pick. Hilux will borrow the court from Fortuner. As Toyota is expected to bring the bakkie to the country, the competition will have to lift their socks.

5. Toyota Rav4

Toyota is planning to bring the RAV4 to India as evidenced by the frequent visibility of the vehicle. The Toyota RAV4 is based on the TNGA platform which currently supports the Toyota Camry. With the car being a petrol or petrol mixer in world markets, it is expected to be one of the Toyota hybrids to be sold near the Toyota Camry in India. When imported RAV4 will face competition in luxury SUVs.
