Maruti Suzuki Sales Review May 2021 

Maruti Suzuki records domestic wholesales of 32,903 units in May 2021 and recorded a 76 percent decrease compared to April 2021. Exports increased by 140 percent in May 2021 vs May 2020.

Since last year May 2020 has had a shutdown due to COVID19 and very low sales, compared to May 2020 it will not be significant.

The second wave of Covid 19 hit the continent about a year later and had serious health and economic damage. The closure of several parts of the country has crippled all businesses and vehicles and has not been protected from them. Many car manufacturers have taken the initiative to shut down their production facilities with their planned repairs or diversion of equipment to produce the oxygen needed for medicine. Maruti Suzuki has also led its units in Manesar (Haryana) and Hansalpur (Gujarat) which closed from 1 to 16 May 2021.

  The Swift became the best-selling car in May 2021. It was Maruti's No. 1 car that sold the Month per month and also reclaimed the top spot in the WagonR.

• Maruti Suzuki Dzire rose to second place in May 2021 selling the likes of Alto, Baleno, and Wagon R.

• Baleno’s prices decreased by 71 percent Monthly in May 2021 and ranked third on the table.

• Alto, the largest retailer in the past, was ranked fourth on the list with 3,220 units shipping and 81 percent degrowth compared to Apr'21.

• Ertiga surpasses Brezza and became the best-selling UV in Maruti in May 2021. The model recorded a MoM decline of 76 percent and sale increased by 14% compared to May 2020.

• 
  Brezza is ranked sixth on the list and was also India's fourth-largest Sub-4m Compact SUV in May 2021.

• XL6 was Nexa's second best-selling model in May'21! S-Cross was Nexa’s lowest model with a shipment of 231 units in May 2021.

• 
  Celerio landed at the bottom of the table and 159 small units were shipped to the retailer in May 2021. Sales were down 66 percent by about May 2020!
